This brochure provides an overview of the proposed BioEconomy for Sustainable Transformation (BEST) Partnership, developed based on a wide-reaching and inclusive multistakeholder consultation process held over the course of 2025, in response to a mandate from FAO's Technical Committees on Forestry and Agriculture in 2024. Without coordination, efforts can become incoherent and incompatible, competition for resources can intensify, inequalities can widen and replication and upscaling become more difficult. What is missing is a common “operating space” where countries can align on practical metrics, improve policy coherence, and align understanding of investment opportunities. The BEST Partnership fills that gap – not by adding another initiative, but by connecting what already exists into an integrated, inclusive, and action-oriented global platform.
