La investigación fue realizada en la subcuenca del río Aguas Calientes en los municipios de Somoto y San Lucas, en el departamento de Madriz, con el objetivo de analizar el proceso que se ha venido experimentando a través del tiempo en torno a los mecanismos y acciones desempeñadas por los actores locales para conseguir la sostenibilidad socioeconómica y ambiental. Los resultados indican que se han estructurado diferentes cuerpos facilitadores para el manejo y control de los recursos naturales, sin embargo ninguno de ellos hasta el momento ha tenido participación plena de actores claves. Este estudio contribuye a retomar la experiencia local como ejemplo, sobre el proceso de la estructuración de un comité de cuencas, sus fortalezas, oportunidades, debilidades, amenazas para conseguir los objetivos deseados del enfoque de cogestión adaptativa en cuencas hidrográficas. The research was carried out in the sub basin of the Aguas Calientes river in the townships of Somoto and San Lucas, in the district of Madriz, with the aim of analyzing the process experienced through the time around the mechanisMON and actions carried out by the local agents to reach the socio-economic and environmental sustainability. The results show that some entities have been organized to help in the handling and control of the natural resources. Nevertheless none of them at this moment have had fully participation on the key agents. This study contributes to resume the local experience as an example, about the process of structuring the basin committee and its strengths, chances, weaknesses, and threats to achieve the desired aiMON of the adaptative focusing co-partnership in the hydrographic basins.
