This document explores the role of Parliamentary Fronts Against Hunger (PFH) in the Caribbean, highlighting their contribution to food and nutritional security, sustainable agriculture, and the fulfillment of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. By leveraging parliamentary frameworks, PFHs have advanced inclusive legislation and budget allocations that prioritize the right to food and the eradication of hunger. The report focuses on experiences in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Belize, and Haiti, showcasing initiatives like the Zero Hunger Trust Fund and policies addressing school feeding and agricultural resilience.Key achievements include fostering multi-stakeholder collaboration, integrating gender perspectives, and addressing socio-political challenges through transparent and participatory governance. The PFHs have also promoted technical capacity building and the exchange of good practices, ensuring the sustainability of their programs despite disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and political instability in some nations. For instance, the Saint Vincent Zero Hunger Trust Fund serves as a model for innovative financing and multi-sectoral engagement.The document underscores the importance of maintaining strong political commitment and international support for PFHs to continue their transformative work. Recommendations include strengthening partnerships, enhancing advocacy efforts, and securing resources to expand the reach of these initiatives. The lessons learned from the Caribbean experience can serve as inspiration for other regions pursuing equitable and resilient food systems.
