The Surveillance Evaluation Tool (SET) was developed by FAO to provide countries with a comprehensive and standardized way to evaluate animal disease surveillance systems, including zoonoses. The outcome of SET evaluation missions include an action plan to implement specific, measurable and timely recommendation to better track diseases that affect both animals and people. This handout provides governments and partners with a background on the tool itself, preliminary findings of evaluations carried thus far, as well as a roadmap for the future of the SET project. The objective of this handout is to show the benefits of this toolkit and promote further partnerships with different organisations.
