This document is the final report of the nineteenth session of the Fishery Committee for the Eastern Central Atlantic (CECAF), which was held in Cotonou, Benin, from 4 to 6 November 2008. Major topics discussed were: (i) action on recommendations of the eighteenth session; (ii) main outcomes of fifth session of the Scientific Sub- Committee; (iii) proposal for a revision of the CECAF-FAO fishing area 34 statistical divisions; (iv) FIRMS data ownership; (v) shared small pelagic fisherie s management in North-West Africa: outcome of the symposium on “science and challenge of shared small pelagic stocks management in Northwest Africa”; (vi) review of project proposal for strengthening the Fishery Committee for the Eastern Central Atlantic (CECAF); (vii) global emerging issues in fisheries development and management relevant to the region; (viii) compliance requirements for the project concept note cycle for the strategic partnership for a sustainable fisheries investm ent fund for large ecosystems in Africa.
