Resumen
Descripción
This publication addresses the main problems in the Dry Corridor, a strip of territory classified as tropical dry forest or dry tropic, which extends between the countries of Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala. In the Dry Corridor, there are more than 10 million people who are mainly engaged in agricultural activities. It is an area highly vulnerable to extreme climatic events that combine long periods of drought with shorter periods of intense rains, which strongly affect local populations' livelihoods and food and nutritional security.
