This report is the outcome of a visit made to the Sudan in August 1981 of which the goal was to assist the Marine Fisheries Division to formulate a programme for the utilization and marketing of marine products from the fishing villages situated along the Red Sea coast, with particular emphasis on Mohamed Gol and Dungonab. The report discusses the existing facilities, recommends that development be focused on a strengthened fisheries Cooperative at Mohamed Gol and suggests a programme for post-h arvest fish handling, processing, storage distribution and marketing of marine products.
