The project aims at addressing the pressing challenges of climate change and natural resource crises in refugee hotspot areas of Northern Jordan. The project, titled “Emergency response to climate change and natural resource crises in refugee hotspots in Jordan,” focuses on disaster risk reduction, community-based solutions, and forest rehabilitation.The project will be implemented in Zaatari Refugee Camp, Ajloun, and Jerash governorates, targeting 150 beneficiaries, including Syrian refugees and host community members. Key activities include the rehabilitation of forest areas through cash-for-work programs, capacity building on disaster risk management, and the establishment of community-based disaster response mechanisms.يهدف المشروع إلى معالجة التحديات الملحة المتمثلة في تغير المناخ وأزمات الموارد الطبيعية في المناطق التي يسكنها اللاجئون في شمال الأردن. ويركز المشروع، الذي يحمل عنوان "الاستجابة الطارئة لتغيير المناخ وأزمات الموارد الطبيعية في المناطق الفعالة للاجئين في الأردن"، على الحد من مخاطر الكوارث والحلول المجتمعية وإعادة تأهيل الغاباتسيتم تنفيذ المشروع في مخيم الزعتري للاجئين ومحافظتي عجلون وجرش، ويستهدف 150 مستفيدًا، بما في ذلك اللاجئون السوريون وأفراد المجتمع المضيف. وتشمل الأنشطة الرئيسية إعادة تأهيل مناطق الغابات من خلال برامج النقد مقابل العمل، وبناء القدرات في مجال إدارة مخاطر الكوارث، وإنشاء آليات الاستجابة المجتمعية للكوارث.
