dc.descriptionGene editing offers opportunities for the genetic improvement of animals. However, mosaicism continues to represent a significant challenge in genetic modification experiments, due to the presence of two or more cell lines with distinct genotypes within the same organism, hindering both accurate genotyping and reliable transmission of mutations to offspring. In this context, preimplantation genetic screening of embryos emerges as a promising strategy. In the present study, the CRISPR/Cas9 system combined with electroporation (EP) using a Nepa21 electroporator (Nepagene, Japan) was employed to edit the beta-lactoglobulin (BLG) gene in in vitro-fertilized bovine oocytes.
