Based on official reports, this compendium illustrates how projects funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), designed and implemented by FAO in close collaboration with national counterparts in Latin America and the Caribbean from 2013 to 2023, are concretely contributing to achieving the objectives of the new Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework of the Convention on Biological Diversity. These projects have been essential in addressing critical biodiversity challenges in the region, where biological diversity is rich but threatened. FAO has worked alongside local governments, community organizations, and other key stakeholders to develop strategies and actions that not only protect biodiversity but also promote sustainable development and community resilience. In particular, this document focuses on Target 10: Improve biodiversity and sustainability in agriculture, aquaculture, fisheries and forestryProgress is reported in the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Chile, Cuba, Dominica, the Dominican Republic, Grenada, Mexico, Peru, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Saint Lucia and Uruguay.
