Under the project “Support for the design of the MRV System in the framework of REDD+ Readiness in the Sudan” and with financial support of the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF), Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has been supporting the Government of Sudan, particularly the Forests National Corporation (FNC) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, in the development of a robust National Forest Monitoring System (NFMS) to obtain up-to-date, reliable, transparent and accessible information about the state of the country’s forests and guide decision and policymaking for sustainable management of Sudan’s forest.
