Descripción
This edition of the newsletter covers wide range of developmental stories which share testimonies of beneficiaries who lives have been positively impacted by projects implemented by FAO. As the first edition in 2025, the newsletter summarizes project activities and other important happenings which have had a positive reflection on the local population in Liberia and other partners who work along with FAO in implementing agricultural related programs in the country. In this edition, we spotlight the transformative impact of FAO’s Community-Based Forest Management (CBFM) project, which is changing lives in Nimba County through sustainable honey production. We also cover the FAO’s donation of computers to enhance agricultural education and capacity building. A new training initiative with the Ministry of Agriculture aims to combat rising tree and crop pest outbreaks, while the Scaling Up Nutrition Movement concludes a successful four-day annual assessment in Monrovia. Additionally, the newsletter also highligted FAO support to youth engagement in food systems through the World Food Forum and partners with the University of Liberia to develop a small-scale fisheries curriculum, reinforcing food security and sustainable development. These initiatives reflect FAO’s commitment to sustainable development, food security, and capacity building across Liberia.
