dc.descriptionThe overall objective of the Round Table Meeting (RTM) series is to promote awareness and deepen the understanding of the implications of the WTO multilateral trading system on the agriculture and fisheries sector and, in particular on agricultural and food trade in the region. This was the twelfth in a series of meetings organized by FAO on this subject since 1998. For this year, the focus was on briefing decision and policy makers in Agriculture and Fisheries on the WTO related issues with mor e emphasis on PICTA, PACER Plus and similar regional trade agreements and the importance of these issues to the Pacific and how decisions taken may affect the overall development of agriculture and fisheries in the region.
