The Africa Sustainable Livestock 2050 Initiative (ASL2050) funded by USAID under the Emerging Pandemic Threats Program 2 (EPT-2), the FAO Regional Office for Africa (RAF), the FAO Global Perspectives Studies Team (GPS), the Africa Union Interafrican Burau for Animal Resources (AU-IBAR), the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), the East African Community (EAC) and the Intergovernmental Authority for Development (IGAD) participated, on 27 and 28 November 2018, in a technical consultation on Africa Livestock in 2050. The consultation, organized by ASL2050 and RAF and held in Accra, Ghana, aimed at exploring options for joint activities in 2019 around the long-term (2050) future of livestock in Africa.
