dc.descriptionThe GEF-funded “Integrated ecosystem management project for the sustainable human development in Mauritania” started on 4 April 2019 and ended on 31 July 2025. The development objective aimed to improve the livelihoods and natural resource base upon which rural communities depend in Southern Mauritania. The project objective aimed to increase sustainable human development through the restoration of ecosystem services and an integrated ecosystem management approach in three Southern Mauritania landscapes: El Atf; Triangle of Hope; and Great Green Wall. The overall budget was USD 30.36 million, and the GEF funded USD 8.22 million.
