This dependency on the village commons for fodder gets further magnified in the case of small and marginal farmers with limited land resources and for whom livestock rearing is an important means of livelihood. Over the past few decades, increase in human and cattle population has led to a substantial increase in biotic pressure, on these precious support areas. | |
