This document records the recommendations of the 15th meeting of the Advisory Committee of the Bay of Bengal Programme for Fisheries Development (BOBP), held 28 - 30 January at Colombo, Sri Lanka. The document also contains the annual reports (or status reports) of the projects in the Programme. These reports briefly recapitulate the objectives and status of the activities, describe the work and achievements during 1990, assess the progress and indicate the work plan for 1991. The reports w ere prepared at the end of 1990 and presented to the 15th meeting of the Advisory Committee. The Bay of Bengal Programme (BOBP) is a regional fisheries programme which covers seven countries around the Bay of Bengal - Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Thailand. The Programme plays a catalytic and consultative role : it develops, demonstrates and promotes new techniques, technologies or ideas to help improve the conditions of small-scale fisherfolk communities i n membercountries. The BOBP is sponsored by the governments of Denmark, Sweden and the United Kingdom, by member-governments in the Bay of Bengal region, and also by UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund), AGFUND (Arab Gulf Fund for United Nations Development Organizations) and UNDP (United Nations Development Programme). The main executing agency is the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations). The BOBP’s Advisory Committee is composed of member countries, agencie s funding BOBP projects, and the FAO. The committee meets once a year in member-countries on a rotational basis
