This guide has been written to assist fishing technologists, fishery extension workers, resource managers and fisheries to develop effective bycatch reduction devices (BRDs) in tropical shrimp-trawl fisheries. It provides information describing the various stages of testing of a BRD, from planning and preparation for research to the execution of fieldwork, analysis of data, and reporting and extension of research outcomes.
