Resumen
Descripción
Phymatotrichopsis omnivora continues to be an importantplant pathogen. The diseases caused by this fungus resultin economic losses reaching millions dollars in northernMexico and southern United States of America. However, limited research has been done about this pathogen in recentyears. P. omnivora is a soil-borne fungus with a host rangeof more than 2000 plant species, and can survive in soilfor more than 10 years. Research on this fungus and thediseases it causes would help to reduce the negative impacton crop productivity and to improve the management ofother diseases caused by fungi. In this work, the results ofsome research of P. omnivora are discussed, and future linesof research are proposed.
