KULIMA and Afikepo are 5-year complementary programmes that are funded by the European Union, with the aim of achieving improved agricultural productivity, and food and nutrition security. FAO and UNICEF through their specific actions contribute to the overall programme objectives of: “promoting sustainable agricultural growth and incomes to enhance food and nutrition security in Malawi within the context of a changing climate” for KULIMA and “enhancing nutrition security in Malawi” for Afikepo. The two programmes aim at empowering community members with nutrition sensitive production practices, for improved productivity and food availability, increased diversified production, sustainable agriculture and dietary diversity at household levels in the target districts.
