A Survey of Maximum Sustainable Yield Estimates on a World Basis for Selected Fisheries

dc.descriptionThis report attempts an exhaustive survey of the biological literature on maximum sustainable yield. The objective of this study is to quantify to the largest possible extent the biological research in this area. For each species a world estimate and a regional breakdown is given. In addition, because of the emphasis on resourve conservation, information on landings relative to MSY is also presented. For the world, and for all species, the ratio of landings to MSY is equal to 46.9 percent.
