Descripción
The Republic of South Sudan, located in Eastern Africa, has an estimated GDP of $12.81 billion and a population of approximately 12.5 million. This Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) report pertains to a sub-project entailing the drilling of boreholes in Aweil Rice Irrigation Scheme and Kapoeta Counties – East, North and South. This sub-project is part of the Building Resilience for Food and Nutrition Security in the Horn of Africa (BREFONS) initiative, funded by the African Development Bank and implemented in the Eastern Equatorial State and Northern Bahr el Ghazal states. The total cost for rehabilitating the 10km road is $422,500.00 USD, with a scheduled completion timeframe of two months.
