This report sheds light on the challenges faced by farming households across eight provinces in Afghanistan – Nuristan, Laghman, Khust, Badghis, Paktya, Kunar, Bamyan and Ghazni – through an in-depth survey using the Self-evaluation and Holistic Assessment of Climate Resilience of Farmers and Pastoralists (SHARP+) methodology.Capturing the voices of 1 168 households, the report assesses resilience, identifying key vulnerabilities and uncovering areas of untapped potential. This comprehensive report serves as a vital resource for policymakers, development practitioners, and researchers. It sheds light on resilience gaps and offers insights into improving climate adaptation strategies, sustainable agriculture practices, and gender equity. By addressing these challenges, future initiatives can empower Afghan farming households to build sustainable livelihoods and enhance community resilience in the face of climate change.
