The presentation offers a comprehensive overview of risk analysis and biosecurity planning in shrimp aquaculture, highlighting key concepts such as hazard identification, vulnerability assessment, and risk evaluation within the Sri Lankan shrimp value chain. It emphasizes the importance of systematic risk assessment to prevent disease outbreaks, discusses biosecurity measures to mitigate identified risks, and underscores the role of effective communication in implementing successful disease management strategies. This resource has been prepared under the FAO Smart Aquaculture Biosecurity (SAB) project, which is actively promoting sustainable shrimp farming in Sri Lanka, and is meant for stakeholders aiming to enhance biosecurity practices and ensure sustainable shrimp farming.
