Descripción
The outbreak of conflict in the Sudan in April 2023 plunged the population into a humanitarian crisis. Over 20.3 million people are experiencing high acute food insecurity. To propel a change of course, FAO distributed nearly 10 000 tonnes of seeds to 1 million farming households (5 million people). This support helps strengthen household food security and nutrition for at least 12 months. As a multiplier effect, it also ensures farmers can produce enough food during that period to meet the cereal needs of between 13 and 19 million people. This document provides an overview of FAO's distribution to date, as well as its distribution plans for November and December 2023.
