Resumen
Descripción
Rwanda has been a member of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) since 1963. The support provided by FAO Rwanda through the FAO Rwanda Country Programming Framework is aligned with national priorities, with the National Strategy for Agriculture Transformation (PSTA4) and global goals, focusing on sustainable agricultural development, food security and poverty reduction. The Office structure has been recently reorganized under the “four betters” framework to align with the FAO Strategic Framework 2022–2031, aiming to enhance the coordination and delivery of projects on the ground. The evaluation found that the FAO country programme was well-aligned with national goals and adapted effectively to emerging challenges, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The Country Office built strong partnerships with government, United Nations agencies, non-governmental organisations and the private sector. Stakeholders value FAO’s expertise in agriculture, food safety, institutional capacity strengthening and nutrition security.
