The goal of this report is to examine the impact of the global food crisis on sub-Saharan African countries. In particularly, we focus on two questions: To what degree have changes in the international prices of staple foods been transmitted to domestic markets in sub-Saharan Africa? What is the impact of the changes in domestic prices on different types of households in the region?
