Descripción

Wheat stripe mosaic virus (WhSMV, Benyviridae), transmitted by Polymyxa graminis, is the causal agent of the soil-borne wheat mosaic disease in Brazil. By using RNA-Seq, the present study performed a comparative transcriptome analysis between susceptible and resistant wheat cultivars in response to WhSMV infection. The analysis identified a total of 2.244; 2.505; 5.172; and 3.331 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in 'Embrapa16' (resistant) with vs without virus infection; 'Guamirim' (susceptible) with vs without virus infection; 'Embrapa16' vs. 'Guamirim' with infection; 'Embrapa16' vs. 'Guamirim' without infection, respectively.
