The FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (RAP) organized a three-day Visibility and Communications Workshop from 25–27 April 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand. The workshop brought together 30 Media and Communications Specialists from as far West as Afghanistan, Iran, and Pakistan, as well as from FAO Representations and Liaison Offices in South and Southeast Asia, East Asia, and the Pacific Subregional Office. The workshop strived to build the understanding and the capacity Comms specialists require to effectively raise FAO visibility in-country and beyond – from improved media relations to social media skills and support in outreach to donors. A key objective of the FAO Asia-Pacific Regional Communication and Visibility Workshop was to better understand the requirements of COs and LOs so that RAP and OCC can better support Comms specialist in improving the visibility of FAO's role and activities. This report captures the key discussion points and main takeaways from the FAO Asia-Pacific Visibility and Communications Workshop 2023.
