The aim of the paper was to evaluate financial condition of rural and semi-urban LAU 2 units in the Warsaw Metropolitan Area, the area of Integrated Territorial Investment and new regions (PL91 and PL92 NUTS 2 units) in the light of the concept of division of Mazowieckie province since 2018. In the year 2004-2015 the best financial situation was observed in the ITI units. The WMA and PL91 region were characterized by relatively lower values of the analysed indicators. The ranking constructed using Hellwig method of development pattern, confirmed earlier observations.
