The example of Kujavia-Pomerania province presented preliminary results of research on the evaluation
of the reform of the EU sugar market, both in relation to changes in the cultivation of sugar beet (number
of farms, plantation area) and the number and organizational structure of the sugar mills (from 13 plants in
1990 3 sugar factories in 2013). Research has shown a significant decrease in surface area of sugar beet,
however, under a clear increase of the average area of the plantation.
