Descripción
This practice can be applied in small-scale farms. It involves feeding of entire sorghum plants to cattle with all parts attached (head with grains, stems and leaves). Traditionally, it is taken for "Thattu Koduthal" (i.e. “feeding fodder sorghum by administering it orally one by one using our hands”).
Farmers should make sure to use only dried sorghum for this form of feeding, because freshly cut sorghum may contain toxic levels of HCN (feedipedia/Sorghum forage: link).
