dc.descriptionTo eradicate extreme poverty and malnutrition, in 2015,the Government of Rwanda designed a three-yeargraduation out poverty pilot called “Vision 2020Umurenge Programme (VUP) - Minimum Package forGraduation (MPG)” as a social protection programme tocomplement cash transfer through public works anddirect support to people living in extreme poverty. Theproject “Strengthening the impact of Rwanda’s VUP-PublicWorks and beneficiaries’ graduation out of poverty”added value to this agenda by responding to a need tobetter exploit the synergies between social protection andagriculture and improve support for the governmentprogramme.
