The Project “Agricultural Training in the Central American isthmus” is being carried out by the Tropical Agricultural Research and Training Center, CATIE; this Project has a scheduled duration of four years, beginning in july, 1979 and to be terminated in june 1983. Activities are being concentrated on the short-term training of human resources in specific areas, by means of short courses, seminars, workshops and in-service training considered in the thematic concept of the Project. For information and documentation on the Project’s development, an annual report on its activities is being prepared. However, CATIE felt it was necessary to prepare material quarterly to improve communication between the financing and executing institutions. This report includes activities that took place during the first quarter of the third year, corresponding to the period of july-september, 1981.
