dc.descriptionAgriculture is a key economic driver in the Kingdom of Cambodia and a source of employment for around 42 percent of the population The crucial role of the agriculture sector is recognized by the Government’s National Strategic Development Plan 2014 2018 The World Programme for the Census of Agriculture 2020 (WCA 2020 envisaged the census as the central component of a system of integrated agricultural censuses and surveys Under this system, a programme of agricultural surveys would be carried out periodically to provide the operational and performance data required to complement the structural data from the Census of Agriculture In 2013 the first Census of Agriculture for the Kingdom of Cambodia ( was conducted and the results released in late 2015 The Final Report of the CAC 2013 painted a comprehensive picture of the agricultural situation in Cambodia, with key findings on the total number and characteristics of agricultural holdings, types of economic activities performed, number of households engaged in agricultural activities, major crops planted by farmers, and the different livestock and aquaculture activities operating across the country.
