La creación de escenarios socioeconómicos futuros permite explorar de manera coherente diferentes versiones plausibles de un país, como Guatemala, y cómo ese contexto puede favorecer o limitar programas de adaptación frente al cambio climático. Los escenarios se usan para robustecer y priorizar proyectos, políticas e inversiones en Guatemala que fomentan la seguridad alimentaria y la adaptación al cambio climático del sector agropecuario. Los múltiples conjuntos de escenarios dan un panorama amplio y ejemplos concretos de las incertidumbres y los desafíos que pueden afectar el sector a futuro.
The creation of future socio-economic scenarios allows for a coherent exploration of different plausible versions of a country, such as Guatemala, and how that context can favor or limit adaptation programs in the face of climate change. The scenarios are used to strengthen and prioritize projects, policies and investments in Guatemala that promote food security and climate change adaptation in the agricultural sector. The multiple sets of scenarios give a broad overview and concrete examples of the uncertainties and challenges that may affect the sector in the future.
