dc.descriptionThis technical paper aims to provide basic technical guidance for better management practices (BMPs) for small carp culture in Eastern European, Caucasus and Central Asian region. It is one of the primary documentation outputs of the “Central Asia Regional Programme for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development (GCP/RER/031/TUR - FISHDEV), a joint regional programme being implemented under the FAO-Turkey Partnership Programme (FTPP). These BMPs, prepared by the selected aquaculture experts and consu ltants from China, FAO Headquarters, Hungary, India, Thailand and Turkey, are expected to be practically useful for regional fisheries and aquaculture research institutions, regional organizations including Central Asian and Caucasus Regional Fisheries and Aquaculture Commission as well as for people involved in aquaculture, particularly owners of carp hatcheries and farms, and employees of these establishments.
