IARBIC is a five year project to intensify agriculture in Niger. Funded by Belgium (€664 000), the EU (€3.7 million), Luxemburg (€1.2 million), Spain (€150 000) and the Niger Government (€127 000), IARBIC has achieved the following results between 2008-2013: Established 264 inputs shops, including 75 with earlier EU-funding, and trained farmer organizations to manage them. When combined with shops built in previous projects and by partners, there are now 783 shops covering over half of Niger’s a gricultural villages Organized 375 farmer field schools and 750 demonstrations reaching almost 7 500 farmers, half of them women. Built 100 warehouses for warrantage, now available to some 100 000 farmers. Established €653 000 guarantee fund for eight farmer federations, representing 164 000 farmers
