Since 2018, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has been an accredited entity for the Green Climate Fund (GCF or the Fund). Per the FAO GCF Accreditation Master Agreement,1 the FAO Office of Evaluation has some specific responsibilities regarding the evaluation of the GCF-funded projects. This guidance note was developed by the FAO Office of Evaluation in collaboration with the FAO Office of Climate Change, Biodiversity and Environment to provide a summary of the key information needed for colleagues involved in the formulation of GCF-funded projects and/or in their evaluation. This will ensure that evaluations of GCF-funded projects are designed, budgeted, and conducted in alignment with requirements transmitted through GCF policy and guidance documents.
