Resumen

Descripción

As part of the FAO ELEVATE Programme, the Lowering costs via Efficiency Gains of Solar energy systems (LEGS) project conceptualized, developed, prototyped and tested a water-cooled solar photovoltaic (PV) system in Jordan with the aim to reduce electricity generation costs and water evaporation in hot climates. The project addressed the effects of high temperatures on solar performance while enhancing water and land efficiency, with potential benefits for rural communities, aquaculture operations, desalination plants, and irrigated agriculture.
