This document contains the requirements and a proposal for elements that can be used for exchanging event metadata within the Agricultural Community. The requirements are outlined and consequently used for the creation of Events Application profile (Events-AP). A standard to interchange information about events is urgently required. There are many aspects of an event, ranging from simple announcement to detailed description with session breakdowns. This document will allow users to ‘kn ow’ about an upcoming event and guide them to the event web site which provides further detailed information. The information communicated will thus remain simple yet interoperable across domains and organizations. Additionally, the document proposes the use of tools such as RSS feeds from local databases to allow timely sharing.
