Rwanda relies heavily upon agriculture for its income,employment opportunities and the economic wellbeing of itspeople. Achieving food security and increased rural incomes ishighly dependent upon increased productivity in the agriculturesector. With smallholder farmers disproportionately vulnerableto the impacts of climate change as a result of poverty,marginalization and reliance upon natural resources, thedevelopment of water resource projects was a key solutionto this challenge.
