Descripción
This publication details the experience of the Parliamentary Fronts Against Hunger in Latin America and the Caribbean in promoting legislation aimed at achieving the right to adequate food. It presents some of the lessons learned on how the parliamentary fronts work and the mechanisms that have proved useful to them. There is also a summary of the most significant legislative results achieved on (i) food security and nutrition, ii) school meals and healthy eating, and iii) family farming. This
information will be of use to members of parliament and other interested parties looking to strengthen legal frameworks on food and nutrition. The general analysis is complemented by an annex containing detailed information on 15 regional and national laws that resulted from parliamentary front initiatives.
