The experiment was developed at the Plant Genetics Department from the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences, where a group of rice mutants (Oryza sativa) coming from irradiations with protons of the variety Amistad 82 were taken, with the objective of determining their behavior at different saline concentrations (0, 4 000 and 7 000 ppm). After seven days, dynamics and final percentage of germination were evaluated and 20 days later, height, plant root system length, as well as the production of root and leaf dry mass were also evaluated, showing a different genotype behavior at several saline tenors. Radiomutants L - 8553, L - 8554 and L-8555 showed the best behavior at the parameters analyzed for this stress type, in comparison to the donor plant. In gene- ral, with the increase of saline concentrations, an inhibitory effect was recorded in all characters evaluated.
