| dc.description | In the paper we described major trends of changes across 2002-2010 in one category of farming system called „declining agriculture with diversification” which was identified within 8 gminas of Podlaskie province using national agricultural census data conducted in 2002. It was found that the trends of these trajectories were rather similar to those showed generally across the entire areas of Poland including Podlaskie province. An unfavorable aspect of these changes on the area involves decreasing the number of economic enterprises related to 2002. Then, rural community settled in the area of these communes has to search additional incomes outside place of their residence. Therefore, local authorities should supportsubstantially non-agricultural activities located both on farms and off farms. | |
