| dc.description | This paper stems from the author’s experience since 2000 as an FAO consultant advising governments in three developing countries (Mozambique, Rwanda and Nepal) on their veterinary legislation, in particular that controlling the supply of veterinary drugs. Because of the international dimension of drug manufacture and supply, this technical assistance involved examining not only the existing legislation in the countries concerned, but also the corresponding laws of neighbouring countries either where the drugs originated or through which they travelled in transit. The paper draws on that experience, but veterinary drugs laws from other countries will also be included in the study, with a view to getting a more representative range of experience both geographically and in level of development. | |
