Resumen
Descripción
In view of the growing importance of environmental problems in the modern law of food, agriculture, forestry and fisheries, this pilot study describes three national legal systems for environment protection: Sweden, Japan, and the United States of America. Each system is presented under three headings: basic laws and institutions (including central-regional or federal-state structures, and forms of governmentindustry cooperation), sectoral regulation, and legal methods of implementation. The conclusions briefly assess the experience of the three legal systems compared, with particular emphasis on its relevance to developing countries.
In addition to detailed source references and bibliographical annotations throughout the text, the Annex provides complete English translations of the basic legislative instruments.
