The purpose of this report is to inform the Regional Conference for Europe (ERC35) on learning emerging from evaluations conducted by the FAO Office of Evaluation. The report provides a descriptive analysis of the nearly 250 operationally active projects in the region as of 15 December 2025 and presents a synthesis of eleven country, regional and thematic evaluations completed during the 2024–2025 biennium. This synthesis of evaluation findings shows that FAO’s primary contribution has been to reinforce institutional frameworks, technical systems and policy processes that enable countries to plan, implement and sustain agricultural, environmental and food systems interventions. While these contributions strengthened planning, coordination and technical capacity, the durability of outcomes depends on sustained institutional commitment, operational readiness and effective integration within national systems.
