dc.descriptionIn anticipation of proclaiming a 200-mile EEZ, the Government of Kenya requested assistance from the Indian Ocean Programme in revising its fisheries legislation to meet the needs of the new zone. The present report reviews existing legislation and recommends a new basic fisheries law and implementing regulations. Particular attention is paid to the control of foreign participation in Kenyan fisheries.
