This is the final report of the technical training course on risk analysis for the SAARC countries held from 17 to 21 June 2013 in New Delhi, India and organized by the FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific in collaboration with the Quality Council of India, with the support of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. The overall objective of the training course was to strengthen understanding of risk analysis principles, increase application of the risk analysis framework at the country level in support of food safety systems and ensure that risk management decisions are based on science and best available scientific data. The training was expected to build capacity among representatives of the ministries of agriculture, ministries of health, food safety authorities and scientific institutions involved in risk assessment and risk management activities in their respective countries. The document provides a country by country national road map for introducing and/or stre ngthening risk analysis in SAARC countries, as well as regional priorities to strengthen risk analysis within the countries.
